Overall Impression: "Cruel World" is an intriguing new release from the California-based solo project Agness Twin. This song blends modern dark electro pop with elements of 90's alternative and indie rock to achieve a sound that's both strikingly hip and unique. Clever sound design, nimble beat design and creative synthesizer deployment merge with acoustic guitar, electric piano and a fantastic bass line to provide a compelling backdrop for the portentous female vocal here on this track. A cascade of saxophone cacophony serves as a fitting coda, and provides an interesting outro. Agness Twin's "Cruel World" will definitely resonate with contemporary dark pop audiences, thanks to its impressive artistic construction and wonderfully eclectic sound.

Outstanding production, solid mix. Nice sound palette. Plenty of great variation in the arrangement, should keep listeners engaged from start to finish. Love the filtered electric piano. Drum samples sound great, excellent groove and beat design. Terrific bass line. Absolutely adored the saxophone section, brilliant choice there. Vocal style and delivery worked well in the context of the song. Lyrics as well, good job of reflecting the musical ideas with lyrical themes and vice versa. Overall it's a terrific piece with a forward approach to production that does a remarkable job of establishing mood and setting. Tremendous effort here, by everyone involved!
